Naming conventions and a PIE-adjacent reconstruction

Names are not decoration in Otherance: they encode role, lineage, and tonal resonance. We stabilize spellings with a canon naming protocol so that book, screenplay, journals, and game data stay coherent.

The language work aims for a coherent reconstruction adjacent to a precursor of Proto Indo-European (PIE), tuned for speakability and mnemonic clarity inside the story world.

Naming Conventions (Canon)

  • Feminine endings: -nh (primary), -a (secondary)
  • Masculine endings: -os/-mos (primary), -kh (craft/strong), -w (agent)
  • Unions / collectives: -tor/-or

Stabilized Migrations

When old spellings appear, we migrate toward the latest canon form (example: SerepnaSerapnenh).
